Lyrics

Ain’t No Grave

There’s a danger in her eyes

A slow burn in her smile

A silent song playing

Only we can dance to now

This ain’t gonna be easy

Hearts will be on fire

I’d burn the world around me

Just to feel you one more time

Roll with me thru the storm baby

Get something to write this down

When I lose you in the darkness

Ain’t no grave gonna hold my body down

The best things come from dark places

If you can  pay the price

Lonely towns and lonely faces

Like ghosts rollin dice

That danger in her eyes

And slow burn in her smile

Take me to all those places

In slow motion every time

Roll with me thru the storm baby

Get something to write this down

When I lose you in the darkness

Ain’t no grave gonna hold my body down

East Texas Girl

She’s like a mirror

Reflecting all my sins

Blinding me slightly

Lights up my in between’s

I’f I could find another

Reason than the truth

To be free from you now

And fade away into the dirt

So I drive around these streets

With this broken Heart of mine

Follow a trail of sorrow

On a road of broken time

Looking for you baby

Everywhere I go

Looking for you darling

My East Texas girl

Lord won’t you show me

The shadow that I am

So I can turn the light slightly

And get away from myself again

This house of inquisition

And walls of the unknown

Has me question

The rent I’m paying on

So I drive around these streets

With this broken Heart of mine

Follow a trail of sorrow

On a road of broken time

Looking for you baby

Everywhere I go

Looking for you darling

My East Texas girl

Follow the Arrows

Sometimes you go

places you don’t wanna go

Sometimes you feel

Things you don’t wanna feel

Sometimes are hard

then come then harder

You learn from it all

And try to be better

Nobody

Gave me a guide book

Nobody

Showed  me a sign

I just follow the arrows

to get thru this life

Sometimes you want

Things you don’t really need

Changes are hard

Thats when you really feel

Sometimes It all

Feels like too much

You gotta zoom out

To see the big picture

Nobody

Gave me a guide book

Nobody

Showed  me a sign

I just follow the arrows

to get thru this life

Bonneville Salt Flats

I’m a racing man from Houston

What do you wanna know

The racing  scene It’s a dance

Some you win some you don’t

I was born for running

A life I’ve always know

Torn ‘em down and built em up

I know everything there is to know

Now I  take my money

Get a Hard on for the dust

Dry lake bed not a cop in sight

Bonneville Salt Flats

82 I joined the SCCA

Drove a cobra-killer for Edelbrock

Then a flathead roadster found me

I never did look back

In 06 I Broke the land speed record

In that 32 flathead ford

Two hundred miles an hr man

But I wanted more

So I took my money

Got a Hard on for the dust

Dry lake bed not a cop in sight

Bonneville Salt Flats

Some say it’s an addiction

Some say a way of life

I don’t call it nothing

I’ll do it till I die

2021 We took the 34

Out to the flats

Spun her out I almost died

But I had one more shot

I set the land speed record

Finally made it thru the door

Fastest car on the surface of the earth

Number five thirty four

So I take my money

Get a Hard on for the dust

Dry lake bed not a cop in sight

Bonneville Salt Flats

Dumpster Fire

Look at you with that Black bandana

Leather jacket and a Texas smile

Rolling in here like a dust tornado

Kickin’ up a storm with those eyes

Well Oh yeah

My mama was right

Stay away from girls like you

Gotta throw you back in the water

Feel like I’m running from a dumpster fire

Look at you with that pink carnation

Leather boots that have seen some miles

Flat brim hat your an Austin special

Got ‘em all wrapped round your finger tight

Well Oh yeah

My mama was right

Stay away from girls like you

Gotta throw you back in the water

Feel like I’m running from a dumpster fire

Well you’re a live wire firecracker Ready to blow

Burning up the joint every place you go

Its a 911 when your in town

C’mon baby put the matches down

Gone Baby Gone

Well I’ll be gone baby gone

You won’t find me anymore

Gone baby gone

Don’tcha be knocking on  my door

I’ll be Gone baby gone

There’s nothing more to it

I’ll be Gone baby gone

You won’t find me anymore

Should a could a thought about it two times

Thinking I’d never hear

Should a could a looked right over your shoulder

So you could see what I could see

Just a little honky tonk devil

Dressed up to the nines

Tight jeans and bedroom eyes

The devil in disguise

Well I’ll be gone baby gone

You won’t find me anymore

Gone baby gone

Don’tcha be knocking on my door

Gone baby gone

The there’s nothing more to it

Gone baby gone

You won’t find me anymore

Should a could a  of moved  up to the city

So you could sneak around

Should a could a tried to be more of a lady

Not the little tramp in town

Cutting the rug like an old Tom cat

In every bar in town

Driving around in your Cadillac

Lovin’ life with you’re top down

I’ll be gone baby gone

You won’t find me anymore

Gone baby gone

Don’tcha wait outside my door

Gone baby gone

The there’s nothing more to it

Gone baby gone

You won’t find me anymore

Harris County Jail

Took the wife out Friday

In the Cadillac for a spin

Stop by the local honky Tonk

To hear the boys pick a bit

Whiskey wine and woman

Suns coming up again

Black eye and a DUI

Harris County Jail again

Left the office early

on quite Thursday night

Lady on the corner

Thought She could use a ride

Sirens light a wailing

Guns pointed at my head

Charged with soliciting

Harris County Jail again

Well they all know my  name now

Send me  flowers in the mail

Behind these bars of sorrow

Playing cards to make my bail

I can’t seem to get a break

No matter where I Go

I didn’t know the the car was stolen

And I was in Mexico

Tequila weed and money

Wife is gone again

I’m hiding in the shadows

Harris County jail again

Well they all know my  name now

Send me  flowers in the mail

Behind these bars of sorrow

Playing cards to make my bail

Behind these bars of sorrow

Harris County Jail again

He’s Still in my Place

Rain beating on the window sill

Candles burning down next to me

Wish your memory would let me be

Cause he’s still  in my place

Tell me how far I gotta fall

to remind me you’re not mine at all

I buried you way down below

And he’s still in my place

Tell me the words I wanna hear

to make me forget you’re not here

The days are long and nights are cold

Its all I can do to keep moving on

The cigarette burns in my hand

Ashes fall like all our plans

All the roses have wilted now

And he’s still in my place

I’m too honest for sympathy

Even though you keep on haunting me

Let the hurt beam down into me

He’s still I n my place

Ready to Sign

I wanna rent out your heart

nice place to stay

Got a good foundation

Hard to find that these days

get my money together

And pay over time

So Cmon little mama

I’m ready to sign

Well I’ve been looking

for a heart just like mine

Had a bunch of tenants

Been painted a woo times

It takes a beating

Stand the test of time

So cmon little mama

I ready to sign

I’m sure

You’ve had many applications

I’m sure

Most better than mine

I’m sure

You’re being careful / you want the right one

C’mon little mama

I’m ready to sign
